Before continuing onto round 24, begin stuffing pumpkin with Polyester Fiber Fill. Do this throughout the next few rounds to get to your pumpkin to its desired shape.

Round 26: Ch 1. Sc dec till end of round; 5 sc st(s). Pull end of yarn through loop on hook.

Thread yarn tail through darning needle and close up the small hole left from last round of sc st(s). Wrap tail around side and put needle through pumpkin from bottom to top, pull tight. Do this as many times as would like depending on the shape of pumpkin you are wanting. After pulling through your last time, tie a knot, connecting it to the pumpkin. Cut yarn.

STEM:

Using 6.5mm hook, begin with a magic loop. Ch 1.

Foundation: Sc5 into magic loop. Sl st to beginning of round.

Ch 1. Sc continuously in the round until desired stem length is reached. Cut yarn tail about 20 inches long. Pull through last loop.

With Polyester Fiber Fill, stuff stem to help give it shape to stand up (this won't take much).

FINISHING PUMPKIN:

Thread the yarn tail from the stem through your tapestry needle. Place stem on pumpkin and attach using yarn tail from stem. Do this all of the way around to tightly secure pumpkin and stem together.

Weave in ends.
