Using Your Batting Scraps

As a quilter, it's inevitable that you will have leftover batting scraps that are too small for your quilts even when pieced together. Well I've got you covered with a few ideas I rounded up to help use up those leftover pieces!

Add in your scraps when shipping something fragile.

Use narrow strips to make scrappy coasters.

Save scraps to use on your swiffer. Even smaller scraps can be used to dust your sewing room!

  • I make scrappy, improve coasters with my extra batting. This also uses up the really small fabric scraps. I follow the pattern directions from the book Wabi-Sabi Sewing, by Karen Lewis. Anything too narrow gets stuffed into something. Currently I’m stuffing a foot pouf that will go with my favorite reading chair.
