Before I dive into the details, I feel like we need a little background of how this quilt got the name ‘Happy’. Like a lot of things, releasing this kept getting pushed back and it was actually the plan to have released at the beginning of summer, so it was going to be ‘Happy Summer’ as a fun little way to celebrate. When the time came that I finally had it complete to put out, the colors still made me so happy that I decided to keep the ‘Happy’. So I hope making this quilts makes you happy and adds some to your sewing!

- Bone (Background)

Pressing to the Dark Side
One of my favorites parts of this quilt is the ease of putting all of the rows together when you press to the dark side. By doing this and having the rows alternating to create your checkered look, you’ll be able to nest your seams making lining things up super easy!
As you can see in the image below, This is right before my final press. I’ve pieced the rows together and lining everything up was made simple by my nested seams.

Watch how easy lining up the rows and pinning is with these nested seams.! And if you don’t have TikTok, you can watch the same video on Instagram here.

I haven’t finished the quilt top quite yet and think I may save it for a summer finish next year. But I love this happy quilt top and can’t wait to see all of your Happy quilts, too!
